BCAC has been working hard on healthcare4every1, the statewide Campaign to build support for affordable health care coverage for Connecticut residents. Our hard work paid off.
Health Care History was made on July 20th!
The state House, by a vote of 102- 40, and the Senate, by a vote of 24- 12, overrode Governor Rell's veto of
SustiNet. After two years of intense effort by BCAC and other advocates across the State,
SustiNet has now passed. During these two years, BCAC pounded the pavements signing up individual and small business supporters. We spoke to numerous community and business groups. We generated articles and letters to the editor. The media produced persuasive editorials. Just think what this means for us.
Connecticut is on the direct path to affordable, comprehensive health care by July 2012 and is on the cutting edge of the national health care debate.
BCAC thanks you and our local legislators who helped with this victory.
